Electronic Files

elecguideAll files should be provided using special utilities within the applications for preparation for a printer:
QuarkXPress “Collect for Output”
Pagemaker “Save for Service Provider”
InDesign “Package”
Publisher “Pack and Go”
or…as PostScript (.ps) or PDF (.pdf) files created using Adobe Distiller.

All graphic files should be provided in TIFF or EPS format. Other file formats will require conversion at an additional charge. Low resolution graphics may not print properly. Lithographic printing requires a resolution of 300 DPI to ensure expected results.

Are photos and images included separately with links? (If not, output may not be as expected.)

Are photos and images saved as EPS or TIFF files?

Full-color images and photos to be printed in 4-color process should be prepared in CMYK (not RGB). Spot colors should be identified as Pantone colors. Multicolored graphics that print properly to continuous-tone output devices (e.g., inkjet and lazer printers) should be separated for output to a printing press. Some files may require special prepress preparation so they can print properly; this may require an additional charge.

Files created with Microsoft Office software cannot be color separated within the application. If the documents are to be printed on an offset printing press, we must use special procedures and tools to separate these files; this will require an additional charge. We will attempt to match the colors as closely as possible.

Our staff is available to assist you in preparing your files properly so we can meet your time, quality, and budget needs.

Are fonts included separately?

If fonts are not included, may we substitute? (If no substitutions, customer must provide fonts separately.)

Has a hard copy of document been provided?

A hard copy of the document is required so we will know what your document should look like. Multicolor documents should be submitted as separations.
