We would like to take this opportunity to let you know some of the new
things happening here at Paulhamus Litho, Inc. With the advances in equipment and technology,
it is not possible for someone in the printing business to stand idle. Likewise, it is a real challenge to keep up with all the innovations. We are well aware of the fact that our customers are the most important asset that we have and that our number one priority is to keep them happy. Quick service and a high quality product is essential.
In the last three years, we have totally updated our pre-press capabilities. We now have three complete workstations where jobs are either
generated completely or where we work with software provided by the customer. A fourth workstation
is used for electronic film assembly whereby the jobs are imposed in the format that will be used on the press. We are now able to output 8-page signature formats in full color on single pieces of film. We also do our own drum scanning and extensive color corrections. We have found a very successful market doing limited edition art prints.

Last year we added a Stahl
saddle binder which can collate up to six (6) sixteen-page signatures and feeds flat covers automatically scoring and folding them and placing them on the books in line - all at speeds up to 9000 books per hour. Also, in 1998 we added a new Heidelberg Quickmaster two-color press. This gives us super quality at very affordable prices in the small sheet market. This versatile machine will print from business card sizes up to 13"x18" sheet sizes with the same quality as previously found only on larger presses in the past.
We are also pleased to announce that our newest addition for is a brand new Heidelberg Speedmaster four-color press. This is the
fastest and newest sheet-fed
press on the market today. This press was purchased with full automation of all press functions as well as Heidelberg's C.P. Tronics, which constantly monitors everything going on at the press and displays them to the operator on command.
Also, our press is equipped with the perfecting option, which means we can run two-color jobs and print both sides of the sheet at
the same time. Even converting
the press from straight four-color to perfecting and back again is automatic and is done in a few seconds at the touch of a button.
